About Us
Christ Lutheran
Church is a member of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Located in Nashville,
Tennessee at 299 Haywood Lane, we are celebrating over 40 years of
Christian fellowship. Below are links to more information on who we are
as members of the ELCA.

Our pastor is the
Rev. Larry Richardson. Pastor Richardson was called to Christ
Lutheran Church in January 1994. He was ordained as a Lutheran
pastor in 1982 after a career in the restaurant business. Prior to
coming to Christ Lutheran Church, he served congregations in central
Minnesota and Atlanta, Georgia.
History
The first service of
Christ Lutheran Church was held at Tusculum School on September 10, 1961
with 55 present. October 29, 1961, Reformation Sunday, the first service
was held in the new church building with 60 present. December 3, 1961,
saw the dedication of the church building and the Rev. August Wenzel
was
installed as the first pastor. He, along with the original charter
members, watched Christ Lutheran grow in number and ministry to the point
an education wing was added in 1965. Pastor Wenzel served Christ Lutheran
until August 1968. In October 1968, Pastor Vernon Bigalk became the
pastor and faithfully served until August 1976. In October 1976, Pastor
Michael Althauser became the third pastor of Christ Lutheran, serving
until October 1992. Pastor Althauser was involved with the new
construction at 299 Haywood Lane during 1990 and the merger to the ELCA in
1991. When Pastor Althauser left, we were blessed with the Rev. Ferdinand
Meyer, who served on an interim basis until January 1994. Pastor Larry
Richardson joined the family of Christ Lutheran Church in January 1994
serving to the present.
